OCEAN prepares for EU Italian Presidency
OCEAN's Board and the customs expert of the shipsupply industry met with Italian Customs authorities to discuss Italy's priorities during its EU Presidency and voice concerns regarding the Union Customs Code.
The 16th meeting of the OCEAN Working Group ‘Customs & Taxation’ took place on the day before the OCEAN Board meet in Genova, Italy in preparation of the EU Italian Presidency. The Board met with Italian Custom Officials to discuss the impact of the Union Customs Code (UCC) – the EU’s forthcoming new customs law – on shipsupply, in particular the treatment of union goods when delivered on-board of vessels under Article 269. The group wondered why no Delegated Acts or Implementing Acts had been proposed and expressed concerns that this may lead to different interpretations in different Member States
