All change in Brussles

There was a touch of sadness in Brussels at November’s OCEAN Board Meeting for it marked the final duty to be performed by Sweden’s Stefan Ericson.

Mr Ericson has been Chairman of OCEAN (ISSA’s Committee that handles EU affairs) for the past four years. In addition he has been Chairman of the Swedish Ship Suppliers Association and an ISSA stalwart for many years as well.

At OCEAN’s November Meeting, the Board elected Alfredo Tosato from Italy as their Chairman for the next two years with Dirk Cupido from The Netherlands as Vice-Chairman. Matti Kokkala from Finland was re-elected by acclamation to the post of OCEAN Treasurer.

A small ceremony was held in Brussels to mark Mr Ericson’s departure when Keijo Hiltunen, his successor as Chairman of the Swedish Ship Suppliers Association and now OCEAN Board Member for Sweden, was handed the flag for safe-keeping.

The OCEAN Board paid tribute to Mr Ericson for the tremendous work he has done to further the interests of ship supply in Europe during his highly successful chairmanship.
