Malta accedes to the Revised Kyoto Convention
A commentary from the President of the Maltese Shipsuppliers
Mr Alfred Borg (President of the Maltese Ship Supply Association analyses what the accession to WCO's revised Kyoyo Convention means for ship suppliers in Malta.
The revised Kyoto Convention is very useful as it defines “stores”, further recommends good practices as regards the treatment of stores, the exemption from duties and taxes, the possibility to keep information required to the minimum necessary for the purposes of Customs control.
This “standards” helps us, customs and ship suppliers in Malta, to move into the 21st century based on cooperation and trust. I am glad that our European website www.shipsupply.eu lists the entire section related to ship stores in detail.
