Record numbers of professionals and visitors attended the Exhibition and Conference joining over 600 participating organisations and enjoying a direct networking connection to Russian maritime industry buyers who actively sought best-of-breed internationally-sourced products and services to fulfil their projects and active redevelopment requirements.

Our group also had  a unique opportunity to visit Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex “Bronka” (MSCC Bronka), which is built on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, where the Dam and the Ring Road border the territory of Lomonosov. The Bronka Complex will comprise three facilities: a container terminal encompassing 107 hectares, the Ro-Ro terminal of 57 ha and a logistics of 42 ha. The container terminal will have a 1,220 m-long quay wall. The length of Ro-Ro terminal’s dock line will be 710 m (3 berths). After completion of Bronka Phase 1, its capacity will reach 1.45 million TEUs and 260,000 units of Ro-Ro cargoes. In future, the MSCC Bronka expansion will help increase the facility’s container throughput to 1.9 million TEUs. The Bronka Harbour is a connecting link between the sea cargo and the Russian railway network. This means that the feeder traffic on the Baltic Sea will reduce and the calls of the The container vessels in this area will increase substantially. It remains to see if this also means time saving for the transit cargo on the Trans-Siberian railway. Other highlights of the trip were a river boat cruise and the bursting nightlife of the metropolitan city of St Petersburg.
